Dear Military Medical Enthusiast;
I am pleased to introduce the FIRST reproduction Civil War/Indian War period Cased Surgeon's Field
Pocket Kit Type II. This kit is as authentic as possible in every detail. Attention to detail
and authenticity were foremost in mind when I reproduced this kit. The original kit (a George
Tiemann, New York, ca. 1862), that was the prototype for my reproduction is the property of the
Bohemian Brigade Bookshop and Publishers and is on display in my shop.
This kit is manufactured under the trade name of E.G. ARCHER and SON Surgical Instrument
Co. and is limited in production number.
All of the instruments are precision made from the finest surgical steel available; they are made by
a certified ophthalmic instrument company. Please understand that these instruments are hand Grafted
originals just as the original instruments were.
The kit consists of 20 separate items - 12 instruments; 07 surgical needles, and silk suture thread,
and one handmade, red felt lined, Teak wood case. Each instrument is fitted to its own place within the
case, so that there is never a chance for a misfit.
The reproduction Civil War/Indian War period Cased Surgeon's Field Pocket Kit Type II is designed for historical display purposes only and are thus not sharpened to a fine cutting
edge (for the most part, original instruments of the period were not sharpened, except by the surgeon
after they purchased them). THIS KIT IS NOT INTENDED FOR ACTUAL MEDICAL USE IN
ANY WAY.
The retail price per kit is only $675.00 plus $15.00 UPS and insurance. Overseas shipping and
applicable state and local taxes are separate and in addition to the price listed. A minimum deposit of
$200.00 is required to reserve a kit. I accept checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Empress, and Discover
Card. Also for your convenience a Lay-A-Way plan is available. With this plan a $200.00 deposit is
required and the balance is due in full within 60 days (special terms and conditions apply).
The new reproduction Civil War/Indian War period Cased Surgeon's Field Pocket Kit Type II is now ready to ship. These kits have been selling very quickly, so you would be advised
to place your order as soon as possible.
